These pages are intended to help you identify the components in your control, and to help you become familiar with their features, variations, and in some cases troubleshooting methods.

CPU Boards

CPU7 Full-length (13") ISA board with 2105 DSP, four encoder inputs.
Used in M10/M40 family controls, ca. 1993-1997
CPU7P3 PC104-bus ISA board with 2101 DSP, five encoder inputs.
Used in M15 and M400 controls, ca. 1996-2001
CPU7P5 Full-length (13") ISA board with 2101 DSP, five encoder inputs.
Used in M39 and board-level controls, ca. 1997-2000
CPU7P5S Short (10.5") ISA board with 2101 DSP, five encoder inputs.
Used in M39 and board-level controls, ca. 2000-2003
CPU10A Short (10") PCI board with 2101 DSP, six encoder inputs, socketed PIC
CPU10B Short (10") PCI board with 2101 DSP, six encoder inputs, surface-mount PIC
MPU11 Panel-mount board with Altera CPU, ethernet interface to control PC

Servo Drives

SERVO1 3-axis DC servo drive. Used in nearly all controls, ca. 1992 - 2002.
QUADDRV 4-axis DC servo drive based on SERVO1. Used in all 4-axis DC controls, ca. 1993 - 2004.
SERVO3IO Combined 3-axis DC servo drive and PLC I/O unit. Used in M39S and M400S controls, ca. 2002 - 2004.
DC3IO Combined 3-axis DC servo drive and PLC I/O unit. Used in M39S and M400S controls, ca. 2004 - 2008.
DC3IOB Combined 3-axis DC servo drive and PLC I/O unit. Used in M39S and M400S controls, 2009 - 2011.
All-in-one DC Combined Motion Controller, 3-axis DC servo drive and PLC I/O unit. Used in M39S and M400S controls, 2010 - present.
SERVO4 4-axis brushless AC servo drive. Used in AC controls, ca. 2003 - 2004.
SD3 3-axis brushless AC servo drive. Used in AC controls, 2004 - present.
SD1 Single-axis AC servo drive based on SD3. Used in 4-axis, 5-axis and high-power AC controls, ca. 2004 - present
OPTIC1 Interface board to third part torque-mode servo drives. Used in high-power retrofits, ca. 1994 - present.

PLC I/O Units

PLC 15/15 Single-board PLC with 15 inputs and 15 outputs, optional analog spindle speed output. Used in M40-family and M39 controls, ca. 1993 - 2002.
RTK1 Single-board PLC with 1 input and 2 outputs, plus power distribution. Used in M10 and M20 controls, ca. 1993 - 1996.
RTK2 Multi-board PLC unit with 15 inputs, 15 outputs, analog spindle speed output and power distribution. Used in M40 and M400 controls, ca. 1994 - 2002.
PLCIO2 Two-board PLC unit with 35 inputs, 39 outputs and analog spindle speed output. Used in M400 and some T39 controls, ca. 2002 - present.
RTK3 Multi-board PLC unit with 35 inputs, 39 outputs, analog spindle speed output and power distribution. Used in M400 ATC controls, ca. 2004 - present
OPTIC232 and Koyo DL205 Interface unit and third-party modular PLC with up to 256 inputs and outputs. Used in board level retrofits and early ATC controls, ca. 1997 - present
PLC 3/3 Single-board PLC with 3 inputs and 3 outputs. Used in some M15 controls, and with OPTIC232/Koyo system, ca. 1998 - present
SPIN232 Serial spindle control interface. Used to add spindle control to systems with limited PLC capability, ca. 1997 - present

PCM4860 PC104 motherboard supporting 80486 processors, used in M400 and M15 consoles from 1996 through early 1998.
ARB1560 PC104 motherboard supporting Pentium processors, used in M400 and M15 consoles in 1998 and 1999.
ARB1564 PC104 motherboard supporting Pentium processors, used in M400 and M15 consoles from 2000 through 2002.
PCM6890 PC104 motherboard supporting Pentium III and Celeron processors, used ca. 2003-2006 as replacement and upgrade in original (1996 - 2001) M400 and M15 consoles.
